FAQ

1. For whom is the project "Nightwish Bibliotheca"?
Of course the community of Nightwish fans who are interested in publications about Nightwish.
Furhtermore it should be a help for those people, who like to quote Nightwish or need information for a paper or talk. With this project they should be able to name the exact sources for their works.

2. Can I help or work in the project?
Of course. We are especially interested in people who have a lot of material of their own especially from outside of Germany.
Furthermore we are looking for people who help us with translations in all possible languages. If you like to help in that area please have a look in this part of our forum (Nightwish Bibliotheca). There all articles will be listed including the languages they are already available in.

3. Why will it take time until many publications will be available online?
Because we want to do good work. That means we will check the material and will ask for approvals of the magazines, which takes a lot of time.

4. What is a Memorabila?
Collector pieces. It doesn't matter if it is a real collector piece which is dealt for a high price or if it is just a personal piece with an autograph.
So for the database feel free to share your Nightwish autographs or pictures of tickets of Nightwish concerts you went to.

5. Why is my Memorablia not shown?
Please contact us in that case.

7. What is the Nightwish Library (articles/interviews) exactly?
The Nigthwish libary divides into two sections:

- the conception of German publications in a database and
- the conception of international translations

Database project

The fundamental idea is to create a pool of information, which should act as a place for fans but also for school issues.

Hereby a preferably complete and universal listing of all Germanspeaking publications shall be created and sorted chronologically.

The pool of information shall be in form of a database, in which basic information about the different publications (Where was it published? When was it published?) are collected as well as the digital form of the articles and interviews.

The database shall make the exchange easier und give a complete overview. Furthermore the project shall act as a source of information for all those who work on a paper or talk related to Nightwish. Finished papers or those in progress could be presented in the pool of information (columns/essays).

The information shall be interesting for collectors.

Although we have already gathered a huge number of publications in our first listing, it is not yet complete and new ones will follow. Who knows of more publications that are not listed, is welcomed to inform us.

The certainty to have brought the project closer to its aim is the thank you.

International Translationproject

This is the second huge field of the Nightwish libary. It is the try to compile an overview of international publications and to translate these into different languages. Hereby we want to cover the most common languages like French, Russian, Spanish and Finnish.

8. What is the Nightwish Audio Library?
The Nightwish Audio libary divides into two sections:

- official publications
- bootlegs and not authorised publications

Official publications

In this field the Nightwish publications of different record labels shall be covered. Hereby we would like to give an overwiev about the record labels in different countries to identify bootlegs and pirate copies more easily.

Furthermore it is our aim to show as many publications as possible with scans of their covers as well as the inlays.

To give an exact review the database shall also contain all important information like the IS-Number, CD-Number, record label, release date and country.

Bootlegs and not authorised publications

In this part of the libary all those albums, singles, etc. shall be listed which are not authorised by Nightwish and their management.

These publications infringe the band’s and record label’s copyright. However we want to give an overview about them.

It is pointed out expressively that either the Ever Dream Fan club or the co-workers of the Nightwish library project support the actions of bootlegging or record labels without authorisation.

9. How can I upload an article?

First of all you should inform yourself if the article you would like to upload is already in the database. You can use the search function for that.
You have two possibilites to send the articles to us. Either send it to Robin (robin@ever-dream.de) or you upload it directly to our database ("Add new article"):
Title: title of the article
Category: please select the category for the article
Language: The language the article you upload is in
Source*: magazine or website the article is from
type*: original, bootleg or translation
date*: when the article has been published
author: your (nick)name

* these are optional

If you upload the article as a scan, note that each scan is not allowed to be larger than 1MB

Furthermore we need the approval of the magazines/websites that published the articles. If the magazine/website not on our list of magazines/website we already have approvals for, please try to get the approval yourself or tell us the exact magazine/website so we can ask for the approval.
